Our History

Vital Products plc. was incorporated under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 1999. The Company commenced operations as a manufacturer and distributor of fruit drinks and non-alcoholic beverages and stands as a company of repute in the Food and Beverage Industry. The company pioneered the processing and packaging of Tomato Paste in 70gm in flexible, recyclable sachets which was developed completely indigenously and first of its kind in country. Since then Vital has introduced 45 SKUs into the Nigerian market which did not previously exist. The company has a very progressive way of thinking and developing their new products and packaging. The company opened their first factory in Ikeja, Lagos in 1999 and in 2014 Vital opened their doors to their new factory, a new beginning, a bigger facility with more opportunities. The facilities were developed to the highest specifications and each brick was laid with the dream to enhance Nigeria and give the people each opportunity they must have.

Over the years Vital Products has developed a range of consumer packaged goods in flexible packaging, all of which are formulated and the recipes designed in house at the company. The company has built up a reputation as one of the most innovative indigenous companies in Nigeria, specializing in the manufacture of natural, healthy drinks made from fresh fruits, novel and delicious product ideas in the paste and seasoning sectors and promoting trade relationships that go beyond the shores of Nigeria.

Vital has gradually etched itself into the Nigeria food and beverage market by maintaining quality control and best operations. The company in fulfillment of its mission of pursuit of excellence, it was certified by Standards Organization of Nigeria (S.O.N) as having fulfilled the requirements for the award of the prestigious ISO 9001:2000, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 and quality management system certificate in 2006. Since inception, the Company has launched over 80 products that cater to several segments within the Food and Beverage sector. In addition, Vital Products has obtained over 100 product registrations from NAFDAC

Vital have an award winning product portfolio and a superior reach due to strong distribution networks. We are Member of Manufacturers’ Association of Nigeria (MAN), MAN Export Group (MANEG), Association of Food, Beverage and Tobacco Employers (AFBTE)

Vital Products has invested substantially in the fruits and vegetable processing industry which has assisted it in developing a portfolio of products of this type. In line with its expansion plans, the Company has also invested in factories and state-of-the-art machines for the production of beverages, tomatoes and other food condiments.

The Company has deep market intelligence which aids its strategic and tactical business decisions for gaining market leadership. Vital is backed by a strong management team consisting of experienced professionals who support its growth plans and vision.

The Vision, The Dream

In the beginning there was a dream, nurtured by a vision that saw Nigeria as the future. Africa a blessed nation with abundant agricultural production, enormous material resources & the potential for unimaginable growth. The country needed an opportunity to showcase its strength and potentials in the food and beverage sector. With the faith invested in the country and its potentials by the pioneering founders of the company and willing investors, Vital Products was born.

It began with one man’s dream

The company, Vital Products was one man’s dream, Mr Sanjeev Kapoor, his dream was to build a flourishing, reputable, good quality range of consumer goods.

Vital’s journey began with the passion and determination of the pioneering stakeholders and investors to be a part of Africa’s growth story, particularly in Nigeria, Africa’s largest and most populous economy through the production and distribution of excellent food products.

The business was initially solely a family business, it now incorporates not only the key family figures but a range of very established investors and shareholders who see the potential and are striving in Vital Product’s growth in Nigeria.
